He also recalls how the combination of Dutch Elm Disease and the Great 1938 Hurricane destroyed most of New Haven's Elm trees. He talks about the neighborhood's ups and downs since the 1980s, focusing on differences between renters and homeowners, and talks about the work of the Chatham Square Neighborhood Association.
